CAP News

Our New Northern California Office in Palo Alto

Monday, June 1, 2009 marked the official opening of CAP’s new office in Palo Alto. The office is located at the corner of S. California Avenue and El Camino Real, just a mile from Stanford University. There is a conference room that comfortably seats 12 people, and we will soon add videoconferencing.

To keep the office looking bright, it has glass walls and lighter-colored wood on the doors and desk tops. “We absolutely love it and we need to brag about it to the staff and to our members,” says Senior Account Executive Dorine Leong.

The address is 490 S. California Ave, Suite 210, Palo Alto, CA 94306. And Dorine has a new phone number – 650-543-2183. The fax number is 650-289-0298.

Thank You for Voting!

We would like to thank all of you who voted early in this year's Annual Ballot and Proxy process. Thanks to the great response, we reached the minimum number of required votes on May 19. “Last year we received all of the votes in early June,” said Senior Vice President, Membership Cindy Belcher. “This year’s early results were due in large part to efforts coordinated by Jenn Youssef, our administrative and technical assistant.” As a result, we did not incur the costs of hiring temporary help to contact members who had not voted.

All of the candidates for officer positions have received the required number of votes, and their elections will be confirmed at the upcoming annual meeting. You and your fellow members also approved the new MPT Agreement which will be far more user-friendly than the previous version.

Thank you for your participation in the election process!

Upcoming Events in San Diego

Later this month, Senior Account Executive Dan Cavanaugh and Account Executive Tram Nguyen will be in San Diego at the CAPG Health Care Conference. The conference takes place from June 25–28 at the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina. On Friday, June 26, Senior Account Executive Lena Ocampo and Tram will attend the 52nd Annual Postgraduate Symposium of the San Diego Academy of Family Physicians. Held at the San Diego Hilton in Mission Bay, the event takes place on the weekend of June 26–28.

Save the Date: Litigation Education Retreat

CAP’s Litigation Education Retreat is a benefit to all members, and the next event will take place in Los Angeles on Saturday, July 11. This informative retreat is designed for CAP physician members and their spouses, since the litigation process can have a profound effect on both. CAP, a CME-accredited provider, designates this educational activity for a maximum of six AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Now you can register online and view the day’s agenda by visiting the Member Log In page on our website. If you know a member who would be interested in attending, please direct the individual to the online agenda and registration form. CAP members outside of Southern California may be eligible for special travel arrangements.
