Helping Us by Prayer

Dear <<First Name>>,

Thank you for praying for the Henrys and the mission to start a new church in Gloucester County, NJ. The Apostle Paul writes to the believers in Corinth and expresses his belief that God will help him. He then writes (2 Cor 1:11), "You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf..."

We believe God will help us. We believe He will help us through your prayers.

We want many to give thanks to God on our behalf as God uses this new church to reach many with the good news of Jesus life, death, and resurrection. Please keep praying for us. Also, please let us know how we can pray for you!

Phil and Polly

Praying for the Henrys: Oct. 19-27, 2009

Praises:
  1. We have been approved by Acts 29, a church planting network that coaches and assists new churches.
  2. A local PCA church is sending out letters this week on behalf of the new church, asking their members to consider supporting us in whatever way God leads them.
  3. The kids mid-term grades seem to show that they are doing well in their classes.
  4. We are getting closer to a name for the church.
  5. We have started to narrow down locations for a meeting spot for our preview services which will begin later in November or early December.
Requests:
  1. Health for all the kids. Two have been down with fevers.
  2. Phil will be gone to Tacoma, WA for a church planting seminar this week: pray for safe travels, for a productive time developing the mission for the church, and for a rich learning time about what it means to be community.
  3. Also, please pray for Polly as Phil is gone: holding down the fort all alone is no small task!
  4. For the lost, the unbelieving, and the unchurched in Gloucester County. We continue to meet people that express a need for spiritual renewal and growth.
  5. For a name for the church. Some of the names we liked have been sidelined for various reasons.
  6. For a spot to meet for monthly for preview services. There is a local university that has a recital hall that may work well.
  7. For a worship leader. We are actively trying to find someone to fill this position as soon as possible.
  8. For our Open house on Nov 1: that many of our neighbors will come, and that it will be a fun time for making new friends and celebrating God's goodness to us so far.
