Settling Down in Sewell

After a month of almost daily hour-long trips to and from Gloucester County from their wonderful (but temporary) residence in Fairton, NJ, the Henrys found a home in Sewell, New Jersey that feels perfect for their family and their new ministry.

Now, the work of church planting begins. Phil continues to pray that a leadership team will be assembled from the various interested people and families in South Jersey; he is making plans for a study on the relationships of Jesus in the Gospels that will bring both non-Christians and Christians together in a common learning setting; he is also gearing up for several prayer and vision meetings in their home for interested people this Fall.

For her part, in addition to managing the children's busy schedules, Polly is preparing to host all of the Henry's New Jersey & Philadelphia area friends who can come to an open house in the next three weeks.

These activites and plans all are setting the stage, Lord willing, for the work of launching a public worship service on Easter Sunday, 2010.

Meanwhile, Phil has to complete the fundraising for the new church; though 70% of the outside budget has been pledged or given, still about $100,000 remains to be raised (in pledges or gifts applied over the next three years).

Thank you for your support and prayers. We need these now more than ever as the work of gathering a new church community in South Jersey has only just begun.

Recession-time Giving
Much has been written about how charitable giving has gone down during the recession. Even so, the Gloucester County Church Plant has been able to receive more than 70% of the needed money for the outside portion of their four-year budget.
