As hard as moving from dear friends and family in Arizona has been, both Polly and Phil continue to see evidences of God's call to not only move to Jersey, but also to start this new church.

As 2009 ended, Phil and Polly hosted 50 people in their home in several gatherings. They continued to visit area churches, meet neighbors, and attend community functions to learn about this place God has called them to serve.

But the "gathering" and networking has taken a new focus as 2010 begins. The new church's first launch team meeting was held this past Sunday.

Phil and Polly both agreed it was a significant "evidence of grace" as twenty adults and fifteen children (which included the Henry's six) met for the new church's first "launch team meeting."

In this meeting, we talked of progress made so far (update here), the church's new name (details here), and had a lively discussion of "the story of God" (learn more here).

Going forward, we will meet on Sunday nights to provide not only a time of training and planning for the new church, but also a place where authentic Christian living can be experienced by those who are curious about the Christian faith.

Currently, there is enough pledge support to fund the operations budget of the new church till March and the payroll till April 2010.

Not only would this help us move ahead with plans to begin weekly worship services in September, but also Phil will continue to have the freedom to work full-time to bring this fledgling church into existence.
