Going Green and Saving Green
Making the choice to be eco-conscious when decorating and designing your space used to be a problem. There were never that many “green” options when it came to choosing furniture and accessories. But with more and more people making the decision to choose sustainable, recycled and reclaimed pieces, eco-friendly options are no longer hard to find.
Meet Mio Culture, founded by brothers Isaac and Jaime Salm, on the philosophy that “addressing both needs and wants requires the merging of responsibility and desire.” This functional and environment-loving company has garnered wide success in the design field and has even hit reality television, outfitting much of the house in the latest Real World franchise.

Their wallpaper, lighting, storage units, and tables are easy to assemble, durable, quirky and, best of all, affordable. While being a student generally already means that you are strapped for cash, Mio Culture's products will keep you in the black while you go green.

With the CultureLab tool on their website, they experiment with different sustainable products, consistently trying to create better ways of decorating and organizing a space. They’ve recently worked with the Philadelphia Zoo, Target and Anthropologie to create economically-stable and environmentally-friendly products. Talk about inter-disciplinary!
We love a company that has both morals and a great business sense, and having super cool designs doesn’t hurt either. Be sure to check out all of their products on their website to find eco-friendly decor that fits you. |
