I Need A Home...
Beautiful Ben
Ben
This lovely boy really needs a home, can you help him? Here is his personal message: "Hello friends, my name is BEN and I am a medium sized male Heeler x aged 4.5 years. I have been a long time resident of the Animal Protection Society, and whilst the people here look after me very nicely and give me lots of love, I don’t like being in my concrete kennel. In fact, I think I am going stir crazy and I can’t help but wish that some wonderful person will give me a forever home. I dream about this every day! I am a good boy and I enjoy lots of cuddles. I like going for walks and to play ball and I know how to fetch and bring it back to you. I am sure you will be impressed with my prowess. I have a great nature and am obedient but I think I need somebody who is firm with me.  Did I mention that I like tummy rubs? Please won’t you come and visit me . . . and maybe you will take me home with you?". . . from Ben (and a sloppy kiss too).  If you would like to know more about Ben please contact the Animal Protection Society on 9398 6616.

Foster Carers Needed!
Please Help Me
Can you help the Cat Haven get through the busy kitten season and avoid having to euthanize cats to make room?  I have personally fostered in the past and I can guarantee that it is a rewarding and relatively easy experience - both of the cats we fostered ended up being adopted - so we really know that we helped save their lives!  Here is what the Cat Haven is asking: "This is a call out to ANYONE out there who can offer to take a cat into their home for a short period, usually no more than a few weeks (though can be longer in some circumstances) - here at Cat Haven we are absolutely full to bursting point with over 75 adult cats and 20 kittens currently in our care. We have so far had 15 adult cats handed in to us today and quite simply don't have anywhere to put them, so are looking for foster carers for them until more room becomes available in the kennels. Cat Haven supplies all food, litter etc for foster carers so all you need to provide is a loving home for the cat! If you think you or anyone you know is in a position to help us out, please contact Freedom ASAP on 9442 3618 or 0403 152 991  freedom_the_vegan@yahoo.com.au"

Homeless Babies
Kittens
Some of these lovely kittens are still available.. please can anyone help them?  The subsidised sterilization fee is a bargain and will ensure that no unwanted kittens will appear in your laundry 6 months down the track!  Please consider this call for help: "The  pregnant  mother of these five kittens was discarded by her previous owners. She was taken in by a foster carer and had five beautiful kittens on 24 September 2009.   Three have now found a home, but there still is 1 female white kitten, and 1 male tabby looking for homes.   They are all very healthy and bright, sociable and friendly. The kittens are not free, but new owners would pay towards a prepaid sterilization / microchipping / vaccination package which we will partly subsidise.  Once the kitten is old enough it will be sterilized with nothing more to pay by the owner as all costs are covered in the up-front payment. If you would like to see the kittens please contact Margaret on mpmonty@bigpond.com from the FRIENDS OF COMPANION ANIMALS SOCIETY INC - "promoting the sterilization of cats and dogs"."

Princess & Samson
Princess & Samson
We urgently need a foster home or permanent home for two dogs; Princess is a 7 year old female German Shepherd, and Samson  is a 10 year old Rottweiler X.  These lovely pooches are desperately seeking a new home as their owners are about to move into a retirement village and are unable to take them with them. It is extremely urgent that we find them a home to go to soon as we do not know what will happen if we don't.  These gorgeous dogs just love people and are very friendly and loving. They really have not had a great life, their current owners do not like to touch them because "they are very hairy! We are looking for somebody very special who is going to love them, pet them and show them everything they have missed out on and more!  Please help to get the word out for these two gorgeous dogs.  If you can help, please contact Jeane of Best Friends Animal Rescue on 0415 779 610 or bfarescue@westnet.com.au.

Happy Ending Update..
Summer's Staying Home
Lovely old Summer who was featured in our last Alert is a very happy pooch indeed.  Her elderly owner has figured out a way to keep her with her - with the generous help of her neighbours who will assist with walks, etc.  Summer definitely did not want to leave her beloved human companion so this is the best outcome possible for her and her owner.  What a wonderful story!!
