Inside this issue... You Can Help Save a LifeHi <<First Name>>, I help lead a Bible study for a group of teenage girls from my church. Even though we all speak English, sometimes it seems like we're speaking a different language. I'm always looking for ways to communicate with them, and I found a new movie that will do exactly that.
This week I hosted a film screening for To Save a Life, a film that's coming out in January. Written and produced by youth pastor Jim Britts (see interview below), it's the story about the real-life challenges teens face and the consequences of their choices.
It's a powerful film and a little bit raw. Many of the dilemmas kids face every day are up there on the screen, bigger than life. Jim and his wife Rachel, who helped shape the story, wanted the film to be PG-13 because they wanted it to be real.
I'm going to help bring the film to our city. I know a lot of kids (and parents) who would benefit from seeing this story. If you're involved in the life of a teen, learn about the film and how you can support it. Maybe you'll have the chance To Save a Life.

Angela Walker ChristianMovieNews.com Industry Interview Christians in Cinema: Filmmaker and Youth Pastor Jim Britts' Goal: To Save a Life by Angela Walker Jim Britts attended Biola University, where he obtained a filmmaking degree with an emphasis in screenwriting. What inspired you to be a filmmaker and when did you decide to go that direction? Jim: I took a screenwriting class my freshman year, and I loved it. So I came out of that class thinking I needed to get into writing. So my plan through my junior year was... [ Read more... ] To Save a Life is scheduled for theatrical release in January of 2010. Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage with Mark Gungor "You're the line in the sand when I've gone too far," describes perfectly Mark Gungor's theory of marriage and a women's role in it. He believes that the breakdown in marriages is because women quit being the line in the sand for men. The women who do that successfully are the ones who overwhelmingly succeed. Those who can't because of self-esteem or lack of role models or whatever, are the ones that are struggling desperately in relationships. His Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage seminars, available on DVD from Crown Entertainment, are very popular events across the country, and you don't have to listen very long to understand why that title is a perfect fit.
