This weekend I was at a friend's house and to escape the heat, I jumped into the pool. I was all in from my head to my toes. It was refreshing and exhilarating, and if I'd stayed on the side, I would have missed it.

A few years ago I had the chance to jump into a new life with both feet. It was exciting, but I had to leave my home in Texas, my family, and my job, everything that was familiar.

My new life took me around the world and introduced me to some amazing people. It's been an del adventure from Indian slums to Hollywood studios.  I still miss my family, and when I talk with a fellow Southerner it makes me homesick for Texas. But my life is rich and beyond what I ever imagined.

Are you standing on the side of the pool wanting to jump in? Do what Peter did when Jesus called him to walk on the water. Take the first step, and you can trust Him for the rest.

Erica Lane (at left with her husband Kyle Saylors) is the focus of Inspired Ambition, a new television series that follows her life as she tries to break into the Christian music industry.

When did you start singing and songwriting?

Erica:  As a little child, I was singing in plays and musicals at school and church. When I was twelve, I would go in my room and listen to two songs over and over: Beauty and the Beast and “It’s a Whole New World” from Beauty and the Beast. I loved the demo voices in those songs, and I thought, “I sure want to sound like that one day.”

Like many homeschooling parents, Mike and Wendy Rondina encourage their son and daughter's (Anthony and Jessica) creativity as much as possible. They even went as far as producing their film. How does a homeschool parent prepare to be a film producer, and how did their kids start creating a film? I had a great conversation with the Rondina family about their adventures in filmmaking and this new direction for their lives.

Typically, novels are written, they achieve a measure of popularity, and then a filmmaker decides to turn them into a movie. In the last couple of years, the trend has reversed itself. Several popular films have been turned into novels after the film released and created a demand for a book.

The Ultimate Gift is a merging of both of these trends. Jim Stovall penned the original book. Producers Rick Eldridge and John Shepherd turn it into a film with a screenplay written by Cheryl McKay. Then novelist Rene Gutteridge worked with author Jim Stovall to create a novelized version of the film.

Howard Klauser (writer, Space Cowboys) teamed with David Evans to write the script for a new Christian movie called The Grace Card. Set to go into production on October 12, 2009, the film is being produced by Evans, Kyle Prohaska (Standing Firm, PraisePictures.com) and John Saunders (Into the Wild and Walk the Line).
