Inside this issue... Check Your Excess Baggage Hi <<First Name>>, In a previous career, I worked for a major airline company. One of the great benefits of the job was the chance to travel very cheaply. However, it was usually as a "stand-by" passenger, who didn't get a seat until everyone else was on the flight. Consequently, I only traveled with a carry-on bag. No checked luggage for me! Now that I'm a paying passenger, I have the luxury of checking luggage when I fly. I don't have to figure out how to pack for 8 days in a bag the size of a briefcase. Except now most airlines charge for checked baggage - even the first piece. Once again I'm packing as lightly as possible. No excess baggage for me. My friend Sue has a theory about excess baggage and people. She thinks we should all be able to fit our baggage under our seat, both physically and emotionally. If you have to check a bag, you have too much. That made me think about my own baggage. What am I carrying around that I should get rid of? Do I really need that attitude or resentment I'm carrying? In life, as in flying, it's easier to go with what fits into a carry-on, so I'm going to go unpack. by Angela Walker
Unlike Jefferson Moore's Perfect Stranger films, Clancy is a road trip film, following the main characters as they navigate the streets of their hometown, then take off on a journey to a shack in the woods. Moore's productions keep improving, and Clancy is possibly the strongest production yet.
A major theme in this film is the redemption of a man through the persistence of an innocent child. It serves as a reminder of one of Jesus' lessons: Unless you become as a little child, you can't enter the kingdom of heaven. [Read entire review... ] DVD Review: A Greater Yes
by Greg Wright
A Greater Yes deserves to be singled out on three scores, I think. First, it’s bold enough to portray spiritual disappointment in a fashion that compares favorably to seminal entertainments like Robbie Benson’s stunning turn in Death Be Not Proud. Second, I think I've rarely seen an inspirational film that's designed to be more therapeutic for those left behind than those who've survived. And third—I've gotta say that this is a pretty remarkable directorial achievement for young Bradley Dorsey, who can't be much older than 24. He knows what he’s doing with a camera, and with actors.
PureFlix did the right thing in picking this low-budget indie up for distribution; this one is a real find.

Dove Review The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry Dove Family-Approved Suitable for all ages
Theatrical Release: 9/18/2009
Dove Review: This story is set in 1970, a time before cell phones, computers and cable. We meet three friends who are pre-teens, a time when life can be difficult. The complications of young love and decisions about relationships are confusing and are illustrated in this film. This story portrays how one man mentors these young boys' lives though Bible study and faith. We all need a little help, whether it is with relationships or our own faith, and the answer can be found in the Bible, a place where everyone needs to spend more time and sometimes we need to just stop and pray for the answers. Mr. Jonathan Sperry is a wonderful man who will encourage and influence many to search for answers for their lives in the Bible and in prayer. "The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry" is awarded the Dove "Family-Approved" Seal.
Road Trip Now that summer is in full swing, it's time for a vacation. Whether yours is taking you across the country or across town to the nearest water park, you'll enjoy these adventures of travelers near and far.

Buyer Review Rating: Faith Lessons on the Life & Ministry of the Messiah - DVD by Ron Perallo "Excellent rental . Which lead us to purchase it for a small group Bible Study. It brought together history, culture, and geography to illuminate the Gospels. The insights we gained transformed our reading of the Gospels and inspired a deeper faith commitment. The interactive 2008 edition of the Discovery Guide was awesome." [Edited for length] [ Read more... ] Buyer Review Rating: End Of The Spear - DVD by Jacqueline Arent
"Saw it in the theater when it came out and was glad for the opportunity to see it again with my husband who hadn't seen it. His comment at the beginning? "How can anyone possibly change these people?" How great our God is! Nothing is impossible for Him. A lot of violence in the beginning but faith building. "Excellent! Captivating! There was actually a departure from the "millions and millions of years ago" comments and instead, "for thousands of years...." was used to describe how the arctic animals lived and survived in the Antarctica. Great family film. Not a dull moment." [ Read more... ]
