Inside this issue... Stay Away from the Edge Hi <<First Name>>, What do you do when someone tells you to stay away from something? Today I climbed Pike’s Peak. Well, actually, the cog railway climbed the mountain and I rode the car. It was an amazing journey to the top of one of the most famous mountains in America. As we got off the train, our guide reminded us, "Stay away from the edge." I watched some of our party go into the gift shop to stay warm, others cautiously worked their way to an observation platform, and some went straight for the edge. Isn't that kind of how we approach life? Some of us want to be in our comfort zones. Others are willing to venture out, but with prudence and careful planning. Still others run at life head on, full speed ahead. I think I'm a mix of all three. I want to be the carefree adventurer, but I've fallen over the edge a couple of times, so I tend to be a little cautious. I've been encouraged to ask God to do bigger things than I can imagine. I'm ready to do that, and I'm ready to be near the edge. It may be dangerous, but it's the best place for taking a leap of faith. Dove Review Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs Dove Family-Approved Recommended for ages 12 and over Dove Review: The humor abounds in the latest "Ice Age" installment: "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs". The 3-D experience was extraordinary. A new character named Buck, a weasel, joins our group of heroes made up of Manny, Ellie, Scrat, Diego, and the rest. In this story Ellie is expecting Manny's and her first child, Diego feels the need for adventure and Sid the Sloth feels like a third wheel. When he finds some baby dinosaurs he decides to "mother them" and does a pretty good job, until the real mother shows up! There are several violent, though not graphic, scenes in the movie, including characters punching each other and a few dinosaurs swallow other characters. With several of these moments to consider, we gladly award our 12+ Dove "Family-Approved" Seal to the film. $8 DVD Sale
