Inside this issue... Friendships that Feed the SoulHi <<First Name>>, Last night I saw a film that will be in theaters soon. [It will remain nameless for now, but my review is forthcoming.] I left deeply disturbed and saddened. The filmmaker has a very dark view of humanity and our relationships with each other.
Ironically, I took a very close friend to see the film. Afterward, we sat down at a restaurant to talk about the film and our lives. Few things are better than Godly friends. They encourage us, challenge us, and see things in us we don't see ourselves.
That was the saddest part of the film. The main characters were lonely people who didn't have any friends, and were almost incapable of making any. They needed someone to befriend them and love them in spite of their junk.
I left the movie determined to reach out to people around me. Sometimes I'm lazy about just being friends with the people I'm naturally drawn to. Maybe there's somebody in my life or yours who needs someone to care about them and look beyond the surface. Maybe it's time for us to push away from the table and invite someone else to sit down and be fed by friendship.

The Heart Of Texas - DVDDove Review: This documentary gives the viewer a testimony of faith, compassion and forgiveness. It is a story of one man, Grover Norwood, who is always willing to help everyone and always looking for projects. He encounters a praying man named Ulice Parker and these two men's lives become entangled for the rest of their lives. Their story will bring you to tears of sorrow and joy. The story is truly a testimony of faith that is pushed to the point that no one should endure. But with the faith in God that these two men show, this story will change lives and the way people think when it comes to compassion and forgiveness. This is a fantastic story that should be watched by everyone. "The Heart of Texas" is awarded the Dove "Family-Approved" Seal for 12+ due to the emotional content.
