Inside this issue... Movies and ThanksgivingHi <<First Name>>, When I first moved out to California and found a church home, one family adopted me as one of their daughters. I don't think I'm in the will yet, but I am invited to all major holidays, especially Thanksgiving. Their entire family gets together for a day of football, movies, golf and food.
I'll never forget what we watched that first Thanksgiving. We started out with Braveheart, and then Legally Blonde, followed by Gladiator and Chocolat. (I'm sure a psychologist would have a field day with those choices.)
Thanksgiving signals the start of the big holiday movie season. One of my new favorites, The Blind Side, comes out in theaters next Friday, November 20. Sandra Bullock, who co-stars with Tim McGraw, remarked in a recent interview that being around the family the movie is based on "restored her faith in people of faith." Wouldn't we all love to have that said about us?
If Thanksgiving seems too far away, check out one of the many new films available on DVD. PureFlix presents Sarah's Choice and In the Blink of an Eye, and Cloud Ten Pictures gives us Shadow Government and The River Within.
Whether you're in the mood for a movie marathon or a double feature, grab some popcorn and your favorite movie-watching buddies and settle in for some good entertainment.

Industry Interview Christians in Cinema: Rebecca St. James by Angela Walker Rebecca St. James is a musician, songwriter, author, editor, and now actress. This year, she has her first lead role in a new film from PureFlix called Sarah's Choice. Can you talk about your role in Sarah's Choice?
Rebecca: My first film role was a small role in To the Wall, as an Australian hitchhiker, then I got this part. It was intimidating initially. I have actress friends and I was asking them for advice. One of my friends, who toured with me before, said the main thing I needed to bring was... [ Read more... ]

Sarahs Choice Dove Family-Approved Recommended for ages 12 and over List: $19.99 $14.86 26%off!Releases on: Tuesday, November 17, 2009 Sarahs Choice - DVDWhen life becomes reality. Dove Review:
This film strikingly displays real-life moments in a realistic way including the times we are forced to make difficult choices. From a family perspective, Sarah makes the right decision. Although we won't give the details away, she realizes in the end that life is a precious gift. This film promotes turning to God for answers and there is a church service and prayer offered up in Jesus' name.
It is recommended for ages twelve and above and we also encourage parents to watch the film with their older children. In one nice scene women who previously had abortions send messages via balloons upward to their unborn children and they attempt to forgive themselves for the past. We gladly award this movie our Dove "Family-Approved" Seal. New This Week Exciting new films from PureFlix, Cloud Ten Pictures, and Kelly's Filmworks. "Saw just a clip, Awesome. Could use more star rating. Like a perfect 10. It really helps drive home the love of God. The lies that dwell in our lives. God began to tell me this story when I was a little girl. I was so grateful for this movie clip. It rekindled my heart for today. Thank You God. "I can't believe someone actually said it seemed outdated compared to today's films. Well, I guess maybe that's because it was MADE IN THE 70s!! They didn't have the capabilities that they do now!! That being said, I was powerfully moved by this series when I first saw it. I think I actually prefer it to the Left Behind series, perhaps because it is a lot more simple. And there is no "star power" to distract you. This is definitely a classic. BTW, there is a reason these sell for almost $100 on ebay!!" "This artist is very versatile. She started with a hillarious country song that got the live audience clapping, and dancing at their seats. Her minimal visual aids kept my attention, as I had various other things on which to focus, besides her great hair. Then she wound down with a touching song that had us all teared up, reminiscing about out loved ones. "We enjoyed the Sugar Creek Gang 3: Revival Villains. It was our first Sugar Creek Gang movie, and I think we'll go back and watch more of them. The acting was good and so was the plot, simple and a little bit suspenseful. Our 12-year-old daughter was especially delighted by the children in the movie. There were some tender moments when hearts changed as a result of loving actions. " [ Read more... ] Buyer Review Rating: Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir: I'm Amazed...LIVE - DVD by Melva Whitlock
