Sunday, Sunday
Hi <<First Name>>,
Sunday is my favorite day of the week. You're probably thinking, "Well, duh." But I can tell you it wasn't always the case. Growing up, Sundays were the busiest day of the week.
We had Sunday School, a Sunday morning service, and then lunch. Often, we had another family over for lunch, which meant socializing and washing lots of dishes. Then we either took a nap or walked the dog before going to youth group, Bible quizzing and choir practice, followed by the evening service.
After that, depending on our age, we either had a youth get-together, supper out with friends, or popcorn and board games at home with the family. It was a full day.
The church I attend now doesn't have Sunday evening services, so when I get home after a morning at church, the day stretches ahead of me. It's kind of an adventure. What are God and I going to do today? Maybe we'll take a nap or hang out by the pool reading and playing with the neighborhood kids. Maybe we'll take a drive to the mountains and enjoy the beauty of creation.
No other day of the week feels so free and wonderful. And on really good Sundays, I get just a glimpse of what God might have felt when He finished creation, called it good, and rested.

Why Does Hollywood Hate To Save a Life?
by Steven Crowder
Earlier this year I was blessed with the opportunity to co-star in the film To Save a Life. It turned out to be one of the most successful faith-based films of all time. Aimed squarely at teenagers facing seemingly insurmountable problems, the movie's most poignant message ultimately dealt with suicide and the value of each individual life... [ Read more ]

Taking Like Dandelion Dust in the Right Direction - An Interview with Jon Gunn: Part 1
Part 1 of a 3-part series with director Jon Gunn
For director Jon Gunn, perhaps the most rewarding moment after 2+ years of hard work on Like Dandelion Dust came the first time he watched the film with an audience. "Underneath it all is this fear that it could be really awful. But when I saw people crying and very emotionally engaged, laughing in the right moments, I felt confident we achieved what we wanted to." [ Read more ]

Dove Review: What Would Jesus Do? - DVD

Dove Review: This is a movie well worth your viewing time! John Schneider does an outstanding job as a drifter who comes to Raymond, California as a scruffy looking man who searches for work and stirs up no sympathy from anyone at all, except a bit from the pastor. Pastor Henry is having his own problems as his wife and son were tragically killed in an automobile accident and his church attendance is down. He is considering leaving the ministry. On top of this, a powerful man named Alex York runs for mayor and plots to claim the church property and turn it into a casino.
After several people treat the drifter like he has the plague, so far as refusing to give him anything to eat despite the fact they know he is hungry, he makes a brief speech in church, telling them they have wasted opportunities to show what Jesus would do. Coughing and ill, he passes out on the church floor and is taken away for medical attention. Yet his comments haunt the small congregation, just as his words of "I feel your pain" haunts a man who intended to run him out of town. [ Read More ]

No Greater Love - DVD
by Jermaine Johnson
"This was one of the greatest depictions of love at its purest that I've ever seen in a film. As entitled, there is "No Greater Love" than the love of God, and only His love can overcome the circumstances shown in this movie. This film can serve as a great and creative instrument for illustrating faith, forgiveness, hope, and, above all, love."

Temple Grandin - DVD
by Donnalynn Sprague
"This movie just became one of my favorites. Now I am touched personally by Autism with my Grandson, but I think aside from that, it is still an excellent movie. It is very entertaining, informative and inspirational. If you are personally touched by Autism, don't hesitate and get this movie as soon as you can. Claire Danes and Temple Grandin will be synonymous in my mind from here on out…"
