My name is Ron Miller and I’m assisting the Alaska Forward Initiative, a private-public partnership that is currently analyzing Alaska’s economy, identifying opportunities for our state to diversity its resources, and in January 2010 will communicate its findings to the state legislature as well as leaders in the business, government, Native and non-profit sectors. I am contacting you because you have been recommended by your peers as an organization that has a vested stake in Alaska’s economic future and we would value your opinions and ideas.
Online, at www.alaskapartnership.org, we have set up an anonymous, short survey professionals can fill out. Our goal with the survey is to gather a broad source of input and feedback from across the state. The survey responses will play a vital role in the Alaska Forward Initiative.
Background
The Alaska Forward Initiative is being led by the Alaska Partnership for Economic Development (APED), a 501(c)(3) organization that received a $500,000 grant from the Denali Commission this past summer for the statewide economic development strategy. APED is also working with a group of consulting firms who are currently analyzing Alaska’s economy and have recently completed extensive phone interviews with professionals from the private sector.
Upcoming Presentations
This Thursday, November 19th, the Alaska Forward Initiative will be making an hour and 45 minute presentation at the Alaska Municipal League (AML) annual local governance conference and will also make an appearance at the Resource Development Council (RDC) annual conference. Details are below.
Thank you for your time and consideration. If you know of any colleagues or friends who would be interested in giving us feedback please don’t hesitate to forward this email.
