A seller-directed look at who attends, what they buy, and the way deals are made at the preeminent global marketplace for animated programming.

Correctly identifying the way your project fits into the global marketplace is the first step towards selling it. Understand the key demographics, genres and formats that sell to global buyers.

3. Identifying broadcasters and distributors who are a likely fit:
Understand the key global markets, learn who the buyers are who are most likely to be interested in your project, and hear key elements that these buyers are looking for.

4. Preparing materials to pitch:

Masterclass Instructors

Leah Hoyer
Producer, Levity Entertainment Group (Los Angeles)


With well over a decade of experience in the entertainment industry, Leah Hoyer has overseen more than 200 hours of programming for network and cable television, both in the US as well as internationally. For over 9 years, Ms Hoyer was Director of Development for Disney Television Animation, working on such global hits as Phineas & Ferb, Recess and Kim Possible. She is now Creative Producer at Levity Entertainment Group, where she develops live action and animated television series and seeks out strong creative talent for management and co-production opportunities.

Leah was an attorney before attending the prestigious UCLA Film School to earn her MFA in Animation and pursue her passion for cartoons. She guest lectures at several universities and is on the Board of Directors of Women in Animation International.

Regis Brown
MDeC Representative in Los Angeles


Regis Brown represents MDeC in Los Angeles, assisting Malaysian companies foster business opportunities in the US market and internationally. A veteran Executive Producer and Distributor with over two decades of experience, Regis has worked with Entara Limited and Parthenon Entertainment where he produced Jakers and Those Scurvy Rascals and served on the company's Board of Directors. Prior to this Regis was the Executive Vide President at Mike Young Productions and Taffy Entertainment where he produced He-Man, Pet Alien, Todd World and Cosmic Quantum Roy. Regis has served as Vice President of International Television and Video at Film Roman, where he distributed Mortal Kombat, The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat and C-Bear & Jamal.
As MDeC's representative in Los Angels, Regis brings his rich and deep experience to assist Malaysian companies gain international success.

Eric Stein
Vice President, Licensing & Business Development, Skechers Entertainment (Los Angeles)


Eric Stein is a worldwide licensing and merchandising expert.
As Vice President, Licensing & Business Development for Skechers Entertainment, Eric is responsible for creating global marketing and sales strategies for new animated programming; developing and delivering presentations to potential licensees and retail and promotional partners; negotiating deal and contract terms; building a network of international agents; and researching and identifying properties for acquisition. Amongst his many achievements in the last 12 months Eric has negotiated a license agreement with Mattel for a co-branded line of Barbie footwear. Prior to working with Skechers, Eric was a Vice President at Brand Central where he develped an $80 million licensing program for the Mark Burnett Productions' series Are You Smarter That A 5th Grader? Secured a national promotion with Toys R Us covering over 40 million households; and sold and negotiated licenses for E! Entertainment, Quincy Jones and Kellogs. Prior to this Eric launched the licensing division for Taffy Entertainment, the distribution and rights management subsidiary of Mike Young Productions. In previous roles Eric has negotiated lucrative licensing deals for such iconic properties as Star Wars, Inspector Gadget, Madeline, The Pink Panther franchise, Indiana Jones, and All Dogs Go to Heaven 2.

Josh Fisher
Executive Producer, SVP Content, Brandissimo! Inc (Los Angeles)


Josh is an Emmy Award winner with over 12 years experience in creating and producing games and children's entertainment for outlets including: Nickelodeon, MTV, Fox Kids, ABC Family Channel, Cartoon Network, Discovery Kids, NFL and TV partners around the world. In his spare time, Josh created the highly viral world of urbaniacs.com
