What's New at RFPL Happy New Year! We're ringing in 2010 with new materials, services, and great programs for all ages.
Have you visited our book blog lately? Go to www.rfplreads.wordpress.com for the latest staff recommendations each month, and post comments to tell us your picks. You can also check out our "best of the decade" choices for movies, music and books, and tell us what your favorites are.
We're adding new online resources all the time. Check out our available titles for your iPod at our website under the Books and Media page. Or try www.mediaondemand.org for titles you can download at home. Here's another new tip: try The Street for financial planning- totally free with your library card. Find independent, unbiased investment ratings for insurance companies, banks, stocks and funds from The Street. You can access The Street from our library website under the Online Resources page. Programs for Children Join us this January for the return of Donuts for Dads! Donuts for Dads will run on Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m., January 16-March 13. Stop in for games, books, crafts, breakfast treats, conversation, and Blue Max coffee.  Also this month, kids 9-12 are invited to our Lightning Thief Movie Release Party on Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. We'll have trivia, games, and treats based on the series by Rick Riordan. Programs for Adults
This January, explore your subconscious on Saturday, January 9 at 2 p.m. during Dream Analysis with Cindy Magnuson. Learn what your dreams say about your waking life, and how to interpret these messages to create positive changes.

On Monday, January 12 at 7 p.m., learn how to Clear the Media Clutter with Ariane Fisher. Get your desktop organized, and take control of those old photos and slides for good.
Interested in local history? On Monday, January 18 at 1 p.m., meet the authors of Suburban Promised Land: the Emerging Black Community in Oak Park, Illinois, 1880-1980. The authors will be discussing and signing copies of their book. Programs for Teens
Teens can participate in our Rock Band Tournamentt on January 23 from 2-4 p.m. This program is open to teens in grades 6 and up. Bands should sign up in advance, but anyone can come to watch the game-sing-off. Special points will be awarded for stage presence!

We'll also have a Teen Crafting program on January 25 from 2-4 p.m., and don't forget about our Teen Winter Reading Challenge which runs through February 18th!
