Wags

We have been enjoying a lot of swimming time this summer. We are working on the upcoming Water Skills division of Wag It Games, dock diving, getting in shape and just having a blast. Check out Sparrow’s latest swimming video. She is learning 360s, about turns, fast, slow and stay.

Phoebe participated in a Dock Dogs competition for the first time. She says what could be more fun on a hot summers day than combining  tennis balls with a leap into a pool. Just her bowl of biscuits! She started off with a 5 foot jump and progressed to a personal best of 10 feet.

Sparrow wrapped up her APDT Rally Puppy Championship and moved on to the “Big Dog” classes. She showed her usual focus enthusiasm and collected two very nice qualifying scores towards her level 1 title.

New Photo Page
We have added a new page to our web site -- photos! We will regularly post photos from classes, seminars and competitions. Check it out!

Puppy Classes
We graduated two puppy classes this month. The puppies really excelled. They really strutted their stuff showing off loose leash walking, sit, down, stay and recalls. While handing out graduation certificates not one puppy jumped on me. Way to go handlers. Your practice showed.

Pam Dennison Seminar
Pam Dennison & Shadow demonstrate doggy handstands. It was wonderful to see dogs and handlers advancing their skills quickly through positive training techniques. Check out the photos on our photo page and videos of dogs doing hand stands, skate boarding and Go Outs on our Youtube channel. Pam has several great DVDs and Books check them out on her web site.

July Rally Trial
Our Summer APDT Rally trial was the most fun yet. We welcomed the most new teams to APDT Rally since the first APDT Rally trial in ME in 2008. We also welcomed teams from around New England as well as NJ. The highlight was disco walk throughs. When our energy was lagging in the afternoon we popped in a Disco CD. The twists and turns of the walk through took on a whole new look and our energy returned. We enjoyed an afternoon of Copa Cabana, The Hustle and I Heard It Through The Grapevine. We have already had requests for Dance music from the start of the next trial.

Every dog and person has their path and it sometimes is not what we think it is. This just beautiful.
