Blog updates: Pictures and  blog Oslo 1001 nights Festival!

Normally there would be a blog entry about the fabulous JOY festival here, but Eyjafjallajökull, probably the most photographed volcano of the year ;) sadly um, clouded my plans here..



Travel chaos subsided after a good week, but I decided to take no chances and travel by Eurobus (23 hours!) to Siri Ydstie's Oslo 1001 nights festival instead...

A short recap: It was awesome :) So many enthusiastic students, beautiful dancers, a great show, good food and 2 VERY sympathetic and professional organisers..  Ahh. I miss Oslo already!!

Summer Classes with Khalida!bellydance class khalida
For 2010 we have not one but TWO summer class locations!! Geilenkirchen (NATO AWACS) for Mondays and Wednesdays and Würselen (Oppener Str. 44/1) for Wednesdays and Thursdays.

How does it work?
In both summer locations you can choose on beforehand on which dates and times you want to take the summer classes, and only pay for those. For Geilenkirchen this has to be either 6, 12 or 18 hours of class in total, for Würselen it can be any number of hours, as long as you email the dates on beforehand.

Classes will be held only on those dates/times where at least 4 students are enrolled!

What will we do?
* in Level 1/2 new basic isolations and a mini-choreography
* in Level 2/3 drum solo techniques and bellybreak
* in Drills/Conditioning more drills :) and conditioning!
* in Level 3/4 '5 songs every belly dancer should know'

Class fees/Enrollment/Signup
 To sign up for the summer classes (Geilenkirchen or Würselen) simply send an email to info@khalida.biz with your name, address, telephone number and which class(es) you'd like to take. Class fees for both locations can be found on www.khalida.biz/bellydance/class_schedule_summer.html

Event-highlight: 8 May World Bellydance Day!!!
World Bellydance Day is THE yearly event where dancers all over the world donate their teaching, time and/or performance to a good cause of choice. This year Khalida will be participating, performing and teaching at WBD in Tienen, organised by Amirah and Saida of Belgium.
Proceeds of the event will go to Cat Shelter this year. Hope to see you all there! :-d

Event-highlight: 20-30 May Khalida US-tour!!
On 21st and 22nd of May I'll be in Seattle, performing with live band/orchestra House of Tarab and dancing with Elisa Gamal in Delilah's studio, yay! On Saturday I'll be teaching 2 workshops, 'Stars of the Seventies' and 'Shimmyland'. It promises to be an awesome event :) See also Facebook event for more information!

On the 29th and 30th of May I'll be taking part in the Bellydancer of the Year contest in San Francisco.

Not much news here, except for being VERY excited about it :) Eep! Fingers crossed!

Event-highlight: 04-05 June Egyptian Fever Festival in Katowice, Poland!!
I'll be teaching and performing at Suraiya's Egyptian Fever festival in Poland 4-5 June, yay! Starring Leyla Jouvana and Roland, Suraiya, Khalida, Faranaz, Mercedes Nieto, Lena Helt, Badriyah, Anna Berner Sarp, Maikki, Safiyah, Sheyla, Zahra, Al Fayyum, Ouled Nail, Elissavet, Nureen, Callicore, Sahara Dancers and Suraiya's student show groups!

Event-highlight: 12/13 June Milka-Khalida Weekend and Belly dance party/Hafla in Heerlen!!!
It's going to be a great party, with bellydance and tribal fusion shops (La Bellini, Tribaltique AND Amiras bellydance fantasy!!), disco time plus performances from our fabulous guest dancers:
Milka, Khalida, Amira, Amirah, Asiyah, Azaryah, Chadia, Luna, Duo Kokoro, Hanaa, Iserona, Johanna, Majidah, Rebellyous, Rubina en Shujana! Not to be missed! :)

UPDATE: Tickets for the BD Party/Hafla on 12th of June in Heerlen are now available!! Costs are 9 Euro (adults) and 4,5 Euro (kids up to 12). You can order/reserve your tickets online by emailing Milka, or ask us about them at our classes/events.
