Sunday, January 31 1 – 4pm Sumi-e for Beginners Explore sumi-e, the ancient art of Japanese ink painting. Sumi-e means black ink painting. Learn the history of this art form and how to use the special painting tools. Paint nature subjects using simple brush strokes. No previous painting experience needed. Tuesdays, February 2 – March 23 4 – 5pm Tai Chi Tai Chi is the name for a number of traditional Chinese exercises characterized by gentle movements which harmonize breathing and mental concentration. Window cleaner, furniture polish, drain cleaner and other products made in the workshop and samples are given to take home.
