Make Great Pictures, Now!

Nature Photography Workshop
In just two hours with noted nature photographer Mike MacDonald you will see the world through your lens in a completely new way, changing your photography forever. You will have the knowledge to create poignant, dynamic images simply by changing your perspective. Many of the ideas taught in this photography composition class are not the usual rules that you might learn in art school. Mike has identified new ones and he doesn’t bog you down with a million of them either. Mike’s work has appeared in Chicago Wilderness Magazine, Gardens Illustrated, Petersen’s Photographic and Outdoor Photographer (MikeMacDonald.com).

 POWERHOUSE

Photographs by
Russell B. Phillips

Russell B. Phillips photo

At the turn of the 20th century Sears, Roebuck and Co. built a facility on the near west side of Chicago to provide for its mail-order service and office buildings. Providing the energy and heat for all the buildings on the 55-acre site, the Power Station was more than three million square feet then, the largest business building in the world. Photographer Russell B. Phillips documents the transformation of the Sears Power House from a massive and riveting, outdated industrial space to a new, adapted reuse as a green charter high school serving Chicago’s North Lawndale community.
Brushwood.
Exhibition runs
through June 28, 2010.
