Company: Radio Telefís Éireann is Ireland's Public Service Broadcaster. I work for RTÉ’s Publishing which develops online products within the RTÉ.ie portfolio. RTÉ Publishing as a division generates a diverse range of products from the RTÉ Guide, to RTÉ Aertel and RTÉ.ie.
Job description: I’ve worked here since 2008. My role is to develop and manage operations across leading online products within the RTÉ.ie portfolio including the RTÉ Player, RTÉ News Now, RTÉ YouTube and recently the RTÉ.ie homepage. The team is small so it demands a flexible approach and you need to be proficient at everything from scheduling to filming and editing, with an interest in news and current affairs and the ability to crop images and write copy. A taste for job creation

Social media agency Simply Zesty hopes to triple the number of people it employs by the end of 2010.
Simply Zesty, which was established a year ago, recently announced that it had accepted an investment of €500,000 for a minority stake in the company, from The Oxford Research Agency (TORA), based in the UK. TORA specialises in FMCG new product development and customer experience research.
Simply Zesty director Niall Harbison told the Prosperity digital media ezine that the company was growing fairly fast without the investment to the point that it had 7 full-time staff. Read more...


Life raft of job announcements

Jobs are coming to Ireland in their hundreds, especially in the areas of technology and the internet. The IDA has been busy bringing in companies, so here’s the lowdown on some of the big announcements.
50 jobs in sales, marketing, engineering, inventory and customer support are to be created in Dublin over the next two years in an internet security firm, Webroot, which is to establish its international headquarters in Dublin.  Read more...

Been singing in to your hairbrush in front of the mirror for as long as you can remember and haven’t been discovered yet? Maybe it’s time to put your musical knowledge and natural talent to good use and get a job as a music show presenter – on the internet!
Dublin-based MUZU.tv which is known for having the largest legal library of music videos on the Internet with a loyal viewership of 3.5 million, has launched the “The Faces of Muzu.tv” competition.

Affordable networking, learning and sharing events on horizon 

People in a broad variety of businesses In Ireland are to get the opportunity to share their business war stories and learn from others at two upcoming events.
The third Bizcamp Dublin takes place this coming Saturday (May 29, 2010) when up to 500 entrepreneurs will gather in the Guinness Storehouse for a day of networking, learning and sharing.
On Saturday June 12, the first Bizcamp SouthEast is to take place, based in the Arclabs Research & Innovation Centre in Waterford, it follows the model set by Bizcamp Dublin and Bizcamp Limerick which was held at the beginning of May. Read more...
