As we exit October, which was breast cancer month, we thought this was the perfect time to send a special "Thank You" for supported Dragons Abreast over the last twelve months. You may have supported our Sydney or Canberra regattas, entered the Simply the Breast Yacht Race in Darwin, been a part of Ladies Skippers or Golf Day in Brisbane or attended one of our many other functions across the nation.

Dragons Abreast has grown phenomenally over the last 11 years and we have struggled to remain personally in touch with our many wonderful supporters. We have now moved to an electronic mailing system, and have just completed the merging of several of our databases. We do respect your privacy, so if you prefer not to receive any further newsletters simply click the link at the bottom to unsubscribe - we do not want to be a pest!

Even though we are now quite large in number (close to 2000 individual members) and are 11 years old we very proud to have always remained true to our origins - to help individuals post breast cancer treatment understand that there is still a lot of good living to do despite this insideous disease and experience the magic of the dragon spirit.  The constant addition of more members to the Dragons Abreast family is clear testament  there is a need for the services which we provide.....and we are so grateful for your ongoing support which allows us to keep alfoat.

Interestingly, when we started no one wanted to know us and thought we were all a little 'looney' - and now, due to Dragons Abreast there is a huge upsurge in mature aged paddlers - especially women - from around the Nation and we are also able to brag that some of our members have gone on to wear the Green & Gold of Team Australia - and all because they had breast cancer and began paddling -  what a wonderful personal achievement! It is also really heartening that these amazing individuals always remember their roots at Dragons Abreast and are always available to help with major events.
