Hello Big Apple!
In August we brought our New York point of presence live  adding another major city to our network.  From 60 Hudson Street in the heart of Manhattan, or  'NYC1' as our network team call it, we can offer our usual range of IP Transit and ethernet connections back to Studley - or any of our other network PoP's.  More information on our UKS Connect services can be found here.

Energy focus continues in UKS North

Our facilities team are focused on reducing our environmental impact and energy comsumption within our technical space.  Industry best practice along with published guidelines by ASHRAE have allowed careful modelling to take place, resulting in the implementation of blanking plates to improve airflow management.  The results have been very exciting and a strong support of our PuE ratio reduction strategy.


Security, security... security
From RSA SecurID tokens for remote access to a 24x7 on-site team and perimeter fencing, UKSolutions continues to put security at the top of the agenda.  Simon, our Site Security Manager, is a familiar face to those visiting our site and continues to enforce the processes that have enabled UKSolutions to commence commercial relationships with the Defence Equipment & Support Agency (MOD) and the Prison Service.


Virtual SQL, Exchange and Storage Delivery
Many of our clients are keen users of our Virtual Backup Solution, and that service has grown to encompass flexible and expandible software solutions.  Using licensed software from Microsoft, our services can really deliver on demand without large upfront costs. We certainly got you asking about IPv6 in December, and the networks team at UKSolutions are starting to assign space to clients with a keen reliance on SEO for their businesses, and those with infrastructure roadmaps moving into 2010.  If you are not sure what this means to you, or need help with your migration plans, then get we can help - or why not attend one of our next technical whiteboard sessions on IPv6.
