Dance: Trisha Brown Dance Company Dia:Beacon Beacon "Early Works" is the first in a series of performances by the Trisha Brown Dance Company at Dia:Beacon, part of a year-long residency. This performance features nine works choreographed by Brown and performed by the full company of eight dancers in the Riggio Galleries. The works range from one to 18 minutes each, and feature solos, quartets, and full company work, some silent, some accompanied by classic recordings by Bob Dylan and The Grateful Dead. Annual wreath sale benefiting Mental Health America November 15 is the deadline to order a fresh, lush wreath with red bow, pine cones, berries, and wire to benefit Mental Health America of Dutchess County. This helps support mental health programs and services that offer hope for those in our community recovering from mental illness, to those coping with ongoing mental health issues, and those wishing to improve the quality of their lives. Wreaths are $18 each. Community Works Campaign Support Community Works, the philanthropic campaign whose mission is to provide financial assistance to local not-for-profit organizations. Funded by donations from employees and students of Vassar College, Community Works has funded 40 different institutions in the Hudson Valley since its inception in 2001. Recipients are selected each year by a committee of staff, administrators, faculty, and students. This year the ten recipients are: Battered Women's Services, Celebrating Community (John Flowers), Children's Media Project, Circles of Planned Parenthood, Dutchess County Arts Council, Dutchess Outreach, The Living Room, Queen's Galley, Real Skills Network, Inc., and Rural and Migrant Ministry.
