Welcome Message
As you read our eighth newsletter, it’s summer. Many of our patients are visiting relatives domestically, traveling abroad, or otherwise enjoying themselves. But here’s a word of advice: even though you may be far from home, you should still be brushing and flossing daily. If you neglect your teeth, even for a week or two during a vacation, we’ll notice the difference during your next office visit.

As for our “Mental Floss” newsletter, our current and past patients still tell us that they enjoy the content, the easy-to-read layout, and the before/after stories. So if there’s an article you particularly like, please let us know.

Keep smiling!
Dr. Mike Hack

What's News?
NEW DVDS TO WATCH
If you’re a patient with an upcoming appointment, we’re constantly adding to our vast library of DVD movies to watch. Our recent additions in the Drama category include:
•    “The Hurt Locker” –– winner of six Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
•    “The Messenger” with Woody Harrelson nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

A Success Story
Sarah had worn her teeth down at a very young age. Her front teeth were so thin that, as you can see from the “Before’ photo, one could almost see through them in spots. She also did not like the space between her two front teeth.

As shown in the "After" photo below, we were able to help her with very thin porcelain crowns. Thus, we were able to restore her teeth very conservatively, meaning that we reduced a minimal amount of tooth structure. She is very happy with the result and tells us that she gets numerous compliments on her smile without people knowing that she had any dentistry done.

Recommendation: New Anesthetic Reversal Agent
Have you ever visited a dentist’s office, received a Novocain shot (or several), and then tried to eat a meal or drink a beverage? Did you then have an embarrassing, drooling moment as your mouth or lips were still numb? It’s even happened to me.

I'm pleased to report that this problem may become obsolete because of a new anesthetic reversal agent I've started using, which can cut the numb time by half. It's something that's been employed in medicine for years and was recently formulated for use in the mouth. The agent dilates the blood vessels, allowing it to disperse more quickly. I had it used on me recently when I had a crown replaced and I was amazed at how quickly the numbness dissipated.

The result? You can chew and drink normally much sooner and your dry cleaner may notice just a tiny drop in your blouse or shirt business.

Offers
Our patients are still asking us about this popular offer. To brighten your teeth, our current patients can take advantage of our BRIGHT, WHITE TEETH WHITENING OFFER for $171 (normally $453).

As part of our “Refer A Friend” Program, if you refer someone to our office, the new patient will be eligible for FREE WHITENING with a comprehensive examination, a complete set of digital X-rays and cleaning for just $375, a savings of $485.

And for referring a new patient, we'll give you a gift card good for a FREE WHITENING. That means it can be used by anyone you choose.

BOTH OFFERS EXPIRE JULY 31, 2010.
