Build your reputation on three levels

Clients
When you are successful in your business, you are successfully building a strong reputation with your clients. This in turn will lead to more referrals and repeat business in the future.

Locally
Being well known in your area of expertise can go a long way as it helps to create new business from people who may have heard of you, even if you have never heard of them. This is the first step to having a reputation that preceeds you.

Industry
Being among the best in a specific area of your industry or overall, will earn you the respect of your peers and clients.
As an expert your suggestions and input will carry more weight. Aim to build a reputation that reinforces your brand value, however the natural part of any reputation is expertise.

Building a reputation is dependent on three elements:

  1. Do something that sets you apart
  2. You must generate publicity
  3. Be consistent

The actions you take to improve or expand your reputation depends on whether you focus on industry, clients or your community as a whole.

Building a reputation means becoming renowned or famous in one area. In order to achieve this you have to get noticed. Focus on networking and being popular in your industry or community.

You must successfully repeat your achievements and develop  your reputation on a consistent basis. You cannot provide great service to one client and not another. You will not be able to maintain a reputation for great service.

A quick look at Microsoft SharedView

Offering online support can be quite challenging when it comes to website collaboration.

This can include a walk through of your completed site, access to a member only support forum and a wiki. They each serve a specific purpose and are administered uniquely.

When directing these demonstrations Microsoft SharedView is our tool of choice. It is a free online tool that only requires a Windows Live ID to use it.

Check out our blog post on how to setup Microsoft SharedView, and manage your online collaborations more effectively.  Microsoft SharedView
