Every time you shop at Quilting Confections you earn points. No card to carry, we keep track! You now have *|POINTS|* points. When you reach 500 points you will receive a reward coupon worth $25.

Demo Day

Saturday April 3 is Demo Day. Plan to bring a finished show & share item and be here for 10:30 so you don't miss anything. We'll put the coffee on and all you have to do is relax and enjoy the demo!

Block of the Month

Fractured FlowersDon't forget to check out our sample blocks for the upcoming block of the month project. Our theme is stars and each month's kit will have instructions to make a star block and the fabrics you need to make that block. We'll start in May so be sure you're name's on the registration list if you want that first block. The first block is $5.00 and when you show us your finished block, the next kit is also $5.00. If your block isn't finished you can still get the next kit but it will be $7.00.

Free Class

Our free class offering is String Zinger on Friday morning, April 9. Purchase your background fabric and take the rest from your stash or scrap basket. String piecing is a fun way to use up lots of those bits & pieces we just can't throw away. Register soon so you don't miss out!

What's New?

Well, for one thing we're blogging - check out our first online tutorial. Sew along with Sue to make a carefree log cabin project. Make a few blocks or a whole bunch - it's fun! Put them together any way you like - could be a table topper or a lap quilt - maybe a cuddle quilt for donation …

Quilt of Remembrance

Quilt of RemembranceWe have kits for the Quilt of Remembrance. Our fabric supplier, J.N. Harper is donating a portion of sales of the Robert Kaufman fabrics used in this quilt to The Royal Canadian Legion Dominion Command Poppy Trust Fund in support of Canada's veterans. Canadian quilters are making this lovely quilt for Royal Canadian Legion branches, for Veterans and Veterans' hospitals across Canada. Do you have someone you'd like to make this quilt for? We have several kits on hand, call us to secure one for yourself.

Sylvia Pippen

Erie Shores Quilters' Guild presents Sylvia Pippen, world renowned quilt artist, author and teacher, for a lecture and trunk show. Kingsville Arena Meeting Room, Tuesday May 18, 2010 at 7:00 pm. ESQG members no charge, Guests $5.00.

Enjoy classes in our spacious classroom with lots of table space, two oversize ironing boards, design wall, great teachers, and good company. Whether you come with someone you know or venture in on your own, you are sure to make new friends, learn new skills, and have a great time! By the way, if you need to cancel a class after registering, you can get a full refund up until one week before the first class.

Learn to Quilt

Make a lap quilt or a single in this class. Learn how to use the tools properly and sew it all together with accurate seams. You'll learn how to measure properly, construct your quilt and sandwich it and then how to quilt and add a double fold binding with mitered corners. You'll have a quilt you'll be proud to show off and the skills you need to make another one too!

That's right, you can take this class for free when you purchase your supplies at QC. Learn a bit about string piecing while you make a beautiful quilt. You choose the size to make from single to king. Choose a background colour you love and pull the rest from your scrap basket.

Look in your sewing machine box - how many feet have you got in there? Now, how many of those do you know how to use? Want to learn how to do some really fun sewing, like sewing beads on by machine, make a rolled hem, couch decorative threads … there's no end to what you can do when you know how to use those machine feet. Just a few hours with Anne and you'll be amazed at what you can do.

This class is taught on our B-Line home quilting system. You will have taken our Learn to Love your Quilting System first. Put some tulips on your table with this beautiful runner featuring curved dimensional piecing. This runner is approx. 42" x 16" and after you learn the technique you could make a matching wall hanging or a cuddle quilt or whatever size pleases you.

These are just plain fun! You can make either HanniBull or his lady friend. You'll learn how to construct the body, paint on fabric and dress and embellish your frog. Add your own personality, maybe your frog is a construction worker or a teacher or … hmmm sounds fun eh?
