youthNEWS -- The Online Newsletter of OBC Youth Ministry

April 17, 2010

<<First Name>>,

We are quickly moving through spring, and summer will be here before we know it. Unidiversity and Mission Trip planning is in full speed! I hope that you are considering those trips and other opportunities to learn and serve this summer.

Also, the new early worship service at OBC will begin tomorrow at 9:00am in the gym. This worship experience will be a more modern, non-traditional way to worship God: with more guitar and piano music, a variety of prayer experiences, use of media and visuals, and creative ways to respond to God's leading. Make sure that you and your family are at worship tomorrow -- either at 9:00am or 11:00am! See you then...

Peace,
David

Unidiversity and Mission Trip Registration
Summer is just around the corner, and sign-ups for Unidiversity (July 5-10) and Mission Trip (June 13-19) begin now! Unidiversity returns to Longwood University in Virginia. Kyle Matthews will be our proclaimer/musician. And our theme will be "H20 - when you pass through the water i will be with you." For Unidiversity, we need a $50 deposit by April 14.

And for Mission Trip, we just need your name on a list! We will travel to Eastern Kentucky to one of the 20 poorest counties in the U.S. to do construction work, camps for elementary kids, and mentoring with college-bound high school students. This will be a chance to connect with a different culture and to make a difference in someone's life -- maybe your own!

Total cost for Unidiversity is $260, and for Mission Trip is $100. You can find sign-up forms online at www.obcyouthministry.com!

Sunday Night Live! (at David, Pam, and Taylor Williams House)
This Sunday after youth choir we will load up the buses and head to the Williams' house. They have a fantastic basement area for us to use to hangout and eat a great dinner! Then, our OBC Green Troopers group will teach us how we can take better care of God's creation. I hope that you will all plan to be there!

Time to Turn in Candy Fundraiser Money
Tomorrow is the time to turn in candy fundraiser money. Please bring your money and any unsold candy to Sunday Night Live! tomorrow night. All of the profits (more than $26/box) will go into your own account to be used for Unidiversity, Mission Trip, or any other youth trip.
