What to Pack for your Trip Abroad

Packing for your trip seems so easy - place some clothes, shoes, and your laptop in a big bag and off you go. But there is more to think about than packing for a 2 week vacation, so there are a few things to keep in mind. We've got some tips and things to remember when you start filling that suitcase.

  * Your passport should always be at the top of
your list. Be sure to being at least 1, preferably
2 or more, copies of your passport photo page
just in case your passport is lost or stolen

  * Medical information is also critical. In a worst
case scenario, it's very important to have
    information about your immunizations, pres-
criptions you're taking, and your health insur-
ance information. If you know you're going to
run out of medication sometime during your
trip, it's best to acquire extra before you leave.

  * If you wear glasses or contacts, it's a good
idea to bring backups just in case. If you wear
contacts, that means extra contacts, and
backup glasses. If you wear glasses, bring
backup glasses, or at the very least, your
prescription in the event that you have to buy
    some.
  * Most countries will have soap, bodywash,
shampoo, contact solution, and the like, so
don't try to pack 3 months worth fearing that
    you can't find them overseas.
Your bags and
your back will thank you while going through
    the airport.

  * You are going abroad to study, so don't forget
your study essentials. Your laptop will come in
handy. There are Staples equivalents overseas
so don't go to heavy on the pens and paper.
  * Bring a few extra passport photos. They come
in handy for IDs or if you need to apply for a visa
    to visit a neighboring country.

  * You know your wardrobe better than I do, so
pack clothes sensibly. Don't forget to pack
some adventure gear either. Sometimes a
sturdy pair of hiking boots will come in handy.
