PRESS RELEASE: Andrews and the House Democrats are Making America’s Recession Worse

Barrington, NJ – After successfully launching his campaign for Congress on Wednesday, 1st District Republican candidate Dale Glading dismissed Rob Andrews’ false claim that the entrenched incumbent is somehow working “to reverse the economic crisis.”

“Rob Andrews is an outspoken backer of the Obama-Pelosi big government agenda in Washington. Their big-spending agenda has undeniably made the economic recession worse,” Glading noted. “The sad truth is that Rob Andrews has supported every spending increase, every tax increase, and every bank bailout that he's had the opportunity to vote on.”

Andrews has voted for trillions of dollars in government spending during his long career in Washington. Most recently, Andrews supported:

•                $192 billion in new stimulus spending. (July 2009)

•                $825 billion in spending for new government-funded projects. (January 2009)

•                $15 billion to bailout General Motors and Chrysler. (December 2008)

•                $60 billion for more government projects and “infrastructure spending.” (September 2008)

Andrews also voted in favor of the ObamaCare bill and "Cap and Tax" legislation, totaling trillions in additional spending on the backs of American taxpayers. Dale Glading has pledged to fight against the out-of-control spending that has characterized Andrews’ tenure in Congress.

“Washington is spending too much, and the people of South Jersey are paying for it with their jobs,” added Glading. “Elected leaders need to spend less, tax less, and stop the backroom deals that are bankrupting generations of Americans. That’s why I’m running to unseat Rob Andrews, and that’s why our campaign to rein in government will succeed in November.”
