Media Advisory: Glading Champions Real Health Care Reform While Obama, Andrews Continue to Ignore the American People Barrington – Congressman Rob Andrews (D, NJ-1) is participating in today’s “Health Care Summit” at the White House. In his opening remarks, President Obama claims that today’s event is designed for “listening to different viewpoints.” But are Obama and Andrews really listening? The Washington Democrats continue to stubbornly back a massive and recklessly expensive government takeover of citizens’ private insurance plans. They have intentionally ignored the concerns of voters across South Jersey who, in poll after poll and rally after rally, continue to vocalize their overwhelming opposition to the Obama-Andrews plan. Republican Congressional candidate Dale Glading is speaking out for the hardworking taxpayers that President Obama and his Congressional allies continue to ignore. Dale backs common sense reforms to remove government bureaucrats from the health care process and return decision-making power to where it truly belongs: between patients and their doctors. The inevitable result will be more affordable, portable and customizable health insurance options made available to every American. Specifically, Dale Glading will fight for the following pro-patient health care reforms when he replaces Rob Andrews in Congress:
- Meaningful tort reform designed to end the trial lawyers’ out-of-control pain and suffering awards responsible for inflating health care costs.
- Structural steps to make health care plans portable, so that Americans who lose or switch their jobs no longer have to surrender their health coverage.
- An end to costly mandates, enabling younger Americans to customize their health care packages and cease paying for coverage they do not need and cannot afford.
- Lowering the age requirement for Medicare and Medicaid enrollment in order to provide insurance coverage for most of the Americans who are currently uninsured.
- Cutting costs by lowering premiums for healthier lifestyles (currently, federal regulations ban insurance companies from offering more than a 20% discount to policy holders who eat and drink in moderation, exercise or don't smoke, etc.)
- Removing taxpayer funding for abortions and disturbing “end of life counseling” from the health care package.
The candidate and his campaign staff will be available to the press for interviews and comment regarding today’s events and Dale’s plans for real reform. Please contact the Glading campaign at (856) 617-1101.
