Glading Notes Parallels Between Hawaiian GOP Victory and
2010 Campaign in New Jersey’s First District


HADDON HEIGHTS, NJ – This morning, First District Congressional Candidate Dale Glading (R-Barrington) celebrated the historic election of U.S. Representative-elect Charles Djou (R-Hawaii) and noted the similarities between Mr. Djou’s district and his own:


“Charles Djou’s victory is proof positive that no congressional district is ‘too blue’ to go Republican red in 2010,” said Glading. “Regardless of party, American taxpayers have finally had enough of the reckless spending and oppressively high taxes originating from Capitol Hill. No incumbent is safe this November, and a staunch Nancy Pelosi ally and ObamaCare co-author like Rob Andrews is certainly no exception.”


Hawaii’s traditionally Democratic First Congressional District is ranked as a D+11 district on the oft-referenced Cook Partisan Voting Index (PVI), and its voters last elected a Republican representative approximately 20 years ago. New Jersey’s First Congressional District’s PVI is D+12, where Rob Andrews has been in office for 20 years.
