Channelling the Minerva We may have just released our latest book, The Irish Vanguard, in June 2009, but Barbara Hall is already halfway through researching the convicts who arrived on the Minerva in 1800. Over the past few weeks Barbara has been talking to the descendants of the Minerva's most famous cargo – General Joseph Holt.
We're hoping the Minerva will be ready in mid-2010. So if you or someone you know are descended from a Minerva convict, please contact us.
News and views The History Council of NSW's History Week is happening around Sydney this year from 5 – 13 September. The theme for 2009? Scandals, Crime and Corruption! Get the lowdown on the program here. Find your family We often put genealogists in touch with others who are researching the same ancestor. So we thought we'd make this a regular part of our newsletter! If you'd like to know if anyone else is researching your ancestor transported from Ireland between 1791 and 1806, please contact us and we'll include your details in our next issue so people can contact you.
