Nine Chains to the Moon, Geodesic Dome Installation by Julie Boyer
Reception with the Curator Thursday, October 8, 5-7pm Exhibition Open September 28 - October 16, 2009
Featuring work by Andria Bibiloni, Julie Boyer, Laureen Griffin, Brooke Holloway, Jessica Jane Julius, and Brenna K. Murphy
The artwork for this 10th Anniversary exhibition was selected by Julien Robson, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. The show features six artists whose work merges to create an experience that surpasses the sum of its parts: a 12-foot geodesic dome made from freshly-harvested bamboo punctuates Victorian-era hand-painted wallpaper and contemporary photography to yield a fascinating look at the work of emerging local artists. Best experienced first-hand because of its site-specific nature and innovative combinations of work, this show takes place in The Gallery at the Center for Emerging Visual Artists at 1521 Locust Street. Gallery hours are 11am-4pm Monday-Friday, with special weekend hours during the Philadelphia Open Studio Tours on October 10-11, from noon-6pm.
THURSDAY: InLiquid's 10x10 Annual Benefit October 1, 7-10pm The Icebox Space at the Crane Building, 1400 North American Street

The twist is that artist identity will not be revealed until after purchase, so sharp wits and artistic acumen will be amply rewarded! For complete details, visit InLiquid.com or call 215-235-3405.
