Devotion In Motion - starting October 25 Starting Sunday, October 25 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm we will be having a Devotion in Motion class. This is a low impact exercise program that incorporates prayer, scripture and exercise. This is a wonderful opportunity to enhance your current exercise program or to start a new one. The holidays are quickly approaching and most of us will gain anywhere from 2 to 10 pounds. Let’s take this opportunity to assist in dealing with stress and physical ailments during the holiday season. Please contact Cheryl Champion at 919-359-3468. Feel free to bring your neighbors and friends.
SPRC - November 2 There will be an SPRC meeting on Monday, November 2 at 6:30 pm. Be sure to check out current and upcoming bible studies!
Contagious Community Bible Study to Begin - starting November 4 Many of us make our way through the early years sharing our lives as we create memories with our friends and families. We’re all familiar with this part of the journey. But then something happens. As marriage, family, career, responsibilities, obligations, and routines move to center stage, authentic and lasting community gets squeezed from the picture. While it’s true that God has created us for community, it can be difficult to know what it looks like, how it feels, and how to begin building it. Contagious Community: Living Beyond Yourself identifies the crucial elements of true, lasting Christian community. This 13-session study provides the direction and depth necessary to move beyond reality and into a life lived “with one another.” This study will meet on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm beginning November 4. If you are interested in participating, please fill out this form. For more information, please contact Bob Losee at 934-3393.
Operation Christmas Child Kickoff Party - Friday, November 6 at 7:00 pm Please come and help assemble shoebox gifts for less fortunate children around the world. We ask that if you are able, please bring items to contribute to the boxes, such as small toys, non-liquid hygiene items, school supplies, and candy, to name a few. We need wrappers, fillers and lots of prayers! It is a wonderful way to kickoff our season of Thanksgiving and to spread the love of Jesus around the world! We hope to see you there! For more information, please contact Dawn Simone at 366-1580.
Youth Chicken BBQ Fundraiser – November 6 The Youth are hosting a chicken BBQ fundraiser on Friday, November 6th for lunch and dinner. 100% of proceeds raised will be used to offset the cost of Pilgrimage the following weekend. We are in need of contacts to help pre-sell lunches at local businesses and schools, please see Janet Kennedy for a sign-up sheet. We are also pre-selling tickets, please pick up an envelope of tickets from Janet. The cost is $7 for a ½ chicken, potatoes, green beans and a roll. Lunch will be available beginning at 11:00am and run through dinner until 7:00pm.
Youth Yard Sale – November 7 Clean out your closets - especially your winter clothes and get rid of the clutter. Remember that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. There's a new twist to this fall yard sale. We will accept consignments of single items priced over $25.00. You must drop it off Friday night or Saturday morning of the yard sale, and pick it up immediately after the sale if it doesn't sell. You must let us know the least amount you will be willing to accept in case we need to negotiate. The Youth Group will collect 20% of the selling price of each item. Other donated items will be accepted at the church beginning Sunday evening, November 1st. We will need help pricing on Friday evening, setting up Saturday morning (5:30), working at the yard sale, and packing up after the sale. Please check for the sign-up sheets on the bulletin board. We will need pick-up trucks to take the rest to Good will on Saturday afternoon. Please see Ann White with any questions.
Men’s Fellowship Breakfast - November 21 There will be a Men’s Fellowship Breakfast on Saturday, November 21st at 8:00 a.m. All CCUMC men and youth (grade 9 and up) are invited and encouraged to join us for this time of fellowship. If you will be joining us for breakfast, please fill out this form so we can plan on how much food to prepare. When is that meeting? Check the calendar!
