Ministry Opportunity
We are in the process of putting together a new children's message schedule.  If you are a youth or an adult and are interested in delivering the children's message, please fill out this form.  For more information, please contact Angela Muir.

Women’s Ministry Opportunity
After leading the Women’s Ministry for several years now, Amy White and Patty Eller have decided to step down.  These years of leading the Women’s Ministry were very rewarding and a tremendous blessing for both of them and now they have decided it is time to step aside and let someone else receive the rewards and blessings of this ministry.  Amy and Patty will be more than happy to answer any questions and to help with the transition.  The retreat date and house have already been reserved for this year.  The Redwine House has been reserved for the weekend of Oct. 8th – 10th, 2010.  If anyone is interested in taking over this ministry please contact the church office.

Community Garden

The Trustees are planning to have a community garden this year.  Items harvested would go to local food needs.  Don Gillaspie will be preparing the garden site with lime and compost.  In order to determine how big of an area he should prepare, he needs to know how many people are willing to adopt a row – plant, weed and harvest.  If you are interested in participating, please fill out this form.

News @ Christ Community

Food Relief Efforts for Haiti

We have been enlisted to help with food relief efforts for the victims in Haiti over the next 3 months.  We will be collecting items for the next several weeks and having a celebration Sunday on January 31.  We will then deliver the food to the MERCI center in Goldsboro, where it will be sorted, packaged and shipped to the victims in Haiti.

Right now we can only accept the following items:

  • Dried Beans
  • Rice
  • Canned Vegetables (with pop tops)
  • Canned Fruit (with pop tops)

All items must be new and unopened.  Please make sure the canned vegetables and fruit have pop tops.  The people who will be using the items do not have access to can openers.

Additional celebration Sundays are scheduled for February 21 and March 21 as we will continue to collect these items through then.

On Saturday, February 27 we will be sending volunteers to the MERCI center to help package items to be sent to Haiti.  More information will be available about this soon.

The United Methodist Conference will lay out plans for April and May at a later date.

Please consider what you can do to help collect food.  Reach out to neighbors, co-workers and friends.

Donations can be dropped off in the church lobby in the Canning Hunger Box.  Once the box is full, the overflow will go to room 7.

Thank you for all you are doing to support the relief efforts in Haiti.
