About Pip & Zastrow: Pip & Zastrow is a true story about two friends who were the top high school athletes in their segregated school in Annapolis, Maryland. Federal laws forbidden them from eating in the same restaurants, attending the same schools, even going to the same beaches. By 1968, Pip, who had become the town's young mayor, and Zastrow, who was in Jail, came together in the streets of Annapolis after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. As their lives crisscross over six decades, what emerges is a life-long friendship full of humor, compassion and hearbreak that realizes the vision of a true united America. Directors: Victoria Bruce, Karin Hayes. Producers: Victoria Bruce, Karin Hayes, Janice Hayes-Wimmiams
