What You Don't Know About Casting (But Need To) With Shay Bentley- Griffin
Saturday, January 16, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

$129 General, $119 ATL365 Members

SPACE IS RUNNING OUT

Meet Shay Bentley-Griffin (WE ARE MARSHALL, MADEA'S FAMILY, REUNION, STOMP THE YARD, THE JONESES, DROP DEAD DIVA), Atlanta’s premier casting director in a no-holds-barred forum about casting and how you can crack into the industry. This is your chance to ask questions and get straight answers in an informal, candid, environment.

Having casted over 225 television and feature film projects, Shay will share stories and anecdotes about working with legends like Clint Eastwood, Robert Altman and Sam Raimi, while offering invaluable tips, “do’s and don’ts” and cautionary tales from her vast experience in the industry. As an actor, you will never have a better opportunity to get YOUR questions answered and learn what it takes to make it as a professional actor in this resurgent market.

Comcast On Demand - ATL365 Recommends

Charles RecommendsThe Hangover

The Hangover

THE HANGOVER is acting, writing and directing coming together to form one of the funniest comedies to hit Summer. There aren't many films that I'd put on par with the likes of AIRPLANE or STRIPES and THE HANGOVER is one of them. Didja ya know Ed Helms (THE OFFICE) was born and raised in the ATL?

"From domestic strife to studio triumph, the most impressive accomplishment of Project is not the student-made album, but that when Kazi says cheesy things like "This is healing through hip-hop," you actually believe him." - Jessica Grose, Village Voice

7 PM - 70th Anniversary Party featuring Turner Classic Movie host Robert Osbourne.

8:45 PM - MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

Many cinema historians cite 1939 as film’s finest year. It’s also when Atlanta’s Historic Plaza Theatre opened its doors, popped its first popcorn and screened its inaugural movie.

To mark the occasion, the non-profit Plaza Theatre presents its 70th Anniversary Gala fundraiser on January 15 hosted by Robert Osborne of Turner Classic Movies. The event will be like stepping back in time. Think 1939 all over again. Drenched in cinematic history and a passion for film, the evening will be a must-see event for movie buffs everywhere.
