I like sports, but I seem to do a lot more watching of them than playing – tennis, football, college basketball. I also like to read, and I seem to be more on a nonfiction kick lately. A movie I recently programmed that I consider to be a great personal discovery: Make-Out With Violence – What I liked most about it is that I couldn’t easily describe it. It didn’t fall into a simple categorization so it felt very fresh. It had creativity, originality, and the energy of new filmmakers. Read More on Film Festival Secrets

The film is about Julie Powell, a lovely but directionless young woman, who aspires to cook all of the recipes from Julia Child's cookbook in a single year, while keeping a blog throughout the entire process. The film contrasts events in the lives of Julie and chef Julia Child as they each progress in their culinary skills. Amy Adams and Meryle Streep put on wonderful performances and I genuinely cared about each of them. So, pop some corn and order JULIE & JULIA - you won't be left hungry. Bon Appétit! Sowemimo - Grasping at straws to save his dying relationship, a man goes to desperate and deplorable lengths to save it. As the ripples of his action affect him and others, he learns that even more dangerous than the lies we tell ourselves and others are the truths we don't.
