Welcome to all new members of Your Shire, Your Say Residents’ Panel. HAVE YOUR SAY PROPOSED INFRASTRUCTURE LEVY Click here to have Your Say on the Infrastructure Levy Council is seeking ratepayer support to introduce an infrastructure levy which would net $30 million over the next five years and enable major maintenance and upgrades to the Shire's ageing infrastructure. Council has commenced a comprehensive consultation and engagement program to gauge the community's views about a levy proposed by Council to replace and upgrade the Shire's ageing infrastructure. UPCOMING CONSULTATION SEA LEVEL RISE STUDY Your Shire, Your Say Residents’ Panel Members are invited to attend a workshop on Sea Level Rise in February/March 2010. GHD Pty Ltd will be facilitating a workshop to obtain local community input and identify key issues and constraints associated with increasing sea level. GYMEA SHOPPING CENTRE UPGRADE Gymea Shopping Centre Upgrade will be open for comment in the coming months. Look out for opportunities to comment on council’s website, at council libraries, and at the administration building. LEISURE CENTRE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SURVEY Look out for council’s Leisure Centre Customer Satisfaction survey in March 2010. Council will be conducting research to gain insight into how council can improve its programs and facilities offered at the Leisure Centres.
RESULTS CHILDREN’S SERVICES CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY AND FEE VARIATION SURVEY View results of the Children’s Services Survey. The purpose of the Christmas holiday and fee variation Survey was to explore the views of Long Day Care families on 2 unrelated issues; the closure of Long Day Care facilities during the Christmas holiday period and the removal of public holiday fees. STATE OF THE SHIRE REPORT NOW AVAILABLE Council’s State of the Shire Report 2007/2008 is now available online. The State of the Shire Report 2007/08, provides a snapshot of the quality of life and wellbeing for the Shire. It uses data from a range of sources including council’s own Neighbourhood Interaction and Participation Survey and Customer Satisfaction Surveys. SUTHERLAND SHOPPING CENTRE UPGRADE The notification period for Boyle Street, Sutherland finished on November 10th 2009. The Boyle Street upgrades include improved pedestrian connectivity. Public plans will soon be available on council’s website under Major Works. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SURVEY Council has finished researching residents’ views on council’s operations and service delivery. Survey data analysis is currently in progress.
