Welcome to the Highland High School Robotics Team 39 Newsletter
Hello everyone! We wanted to let you know that we are very busy getting ramped up for our new season. Two of the BIG things that we are are working on is our new website and fundraising. Both of these are necessities for getting our team funded for the upcoming 2009-2010 season.
We are working on some fundraising ideas and need every ones help! As you may or may not know it takes a LOT of money each season to operate our team. The funds must come by way of sponsorships, grants, local businesses, personal donations and our own fund-raising efforts. FIRST Robotics was created to teach life-skills of all kinds, and a lot of those are learned on our team. One of those skills is fund-raising. We feel it is necessary and important that each student and their family helps in some way with our fund-raising efforts.
Ways you can help
Personal Ways to Help: Donate your time and experience. We NEED all the help we can get to write letters, talk to companies, solicit AZ Tax Credits, make treats for the team, make crafts to sell etc. You don't need to be technical in any way to help with our team. - Your AZ Tax Credits to the team, it couldn't be easier click here to donate now! You can print and mail in your donation or donate online securely through the GUSD website. Or visit our website under the Fundraising Tab.
- Donate new and gently-used items for our upcoming "Garage Sale" that we are holding December 5th or for our ongoing "Online Auctions."
Contact Us to let us know you have items. Please drop off items with prices on between 4:30 and 9:30 pm 12/4 the day before (Friday). We need Robotic Team members to check their houses for items to donate, or ask friends , neighbors, for items.

We need volunteers! If you can help with making signs, helping to man the sale, making cookies or bringing drinks to sell. We need tables. We need signs. We need cookies or baked goods, hot chocolate type ideas. We could use people to clean up. People with trucks to take leftovers to good will.
Business Owners: If you or your family owns a business you may sponsor our team or donate items to our online auctions that we will be holding very soon. You may also donate items to our team "Wish-list." If you don't own a business and know someone who does please tell them about us, and have them visit our website.
Your business has the potential to gain local, national and world-wide exposure to thousands of students, mentors, teachers and other small businesses and large corporations. You will be investing in our students and the future. |
