If you have visited our website recently, you will notice that we have started offering a grind option on your orders. While this will provide convenience for some of you, and a quality espresso grind for those of you with a high-end machine, but no high-end grinder, the grind option is not for everyone. We will continue to highly recommend you purchase your coffee whole bean and grind it just before brewing. With some practice, an inexpensive blade grinder will get the job done nicely, and the freshness will be more than worth it. Visit our You and Your Coffee page for additional brewing tips.
Why do we care so much about the freshness? The beans you purchase rank amongst the finest available; Defiant Bean Roasters uses certified Fair Trade Organic coffees exclusively. We are amazed time and time again to learn how high these beans rate when cupped blind in tests. We offer these beans to you at a very fair price, and you may be curious as to why all our beans cost the same. Early on, we decided to find a fair average price and extend that to all our coffees. This way, you can let your personal taste for coffee drive your bean choice and not be distracted by the price of the bean you like.
Believe it or not, Defiant Bean Roasters is starting to get noticed outside the word of mouth exposure that all of you have made possible. We will work to compile this press and exposure of our coffees on our Smoke Signals page. Give it a look if you have time while sipping your morning cup.
