H1N1 vaccines? huh? must this be so confusing? There is a lot of confusion surrounding the H1N1 vaccines. Why is it hard to find clear communication around this? We recently came across a slideshow that does a good job of clearly laying out some of the numbers and risks in a fairly balanced way. It's done by Dr. Mike Evans, an associate prof at University of Toronto and staff physician at St. Michael's Hospital. See his presentation here.
We haven't found easy-to-read documents with numbers and facts arguing against vaccination, so let us know if you see something worth checking out. an oasis for parents and little ones shall we go for tea with the tots?

Lil’bean and green, a beautiful and inspiring new café, opened up last month. Anyone would love it, but it is especially great for parents of kids under 5 years old. The back has a fenced-in kiddie play area that includes an amazing little treehouse and games and toys to keep the little ones entertained.
The founders are three mothers of young children, and it shows: they've thought of everything. There are clean indoor shoes to borrow in the shoes-off kiddie area in order to keep your feet warm and the area clean. They have highchairs, bibs, and baby food if you forgot it. They serve delicious lattes (49th Parallel Espresso) made with organic milk and select home-baked goodies. There are comfy chairs, a harvest table you can work/read at, and free wifi. They even have breastfeeding chairs and covers. Thank goodness for resourceful and creative moms! This trio saw the need for a place that was as much fun for parents as for children.
Lil’bean and green is in Leslieville, located at 1133 Queen Street, east of Pape. They are open Tuesday to Friday from 9am til 6pm and on weekends from 9am til 5pm. [What's your opinion on Lil'bean and green? Share your thoughts on 5 Blocks Out.]
