Tucson Friends Weekly - Northwest Community Friends Church
Welcome Adam and Allie Kemper!

This coming Saturday, August 28, our new Pastor Adam Kemper and his wife Allie will be moving to Tucson!  We all feel confident that the Kempers have been led by God to begin shepherding our church, and we look forward to what God has in store for them and for us. Adam's first Sunday sermon as our pastor will be Sunday Sept.5th.

Words can't express our deep gratitude to retiring pastor Dayton Durley and his wife Sandy.  Dayton has faithfully served as our pastor during these past few years - years that have been filled with growth, healing, and preparation for this new phase in the life of our church!  Dayton and Sandy just left on a well-deserved two month vacation to their home state of Oregon (and beyond), and we'll miss them. But after their vacation, the Durleys will return in a new role in our congregation -- fellow members (and "cheerleaders" for Adam and Allie)!  Knowing Dayton and Sandy, they will continue to serve in various ways (and will also enjoy the freedom of retirement).

Phone service and internet!

To help prepare new pastor Adam Kemper's office at our temporary location (5151 N Oracle, Ste.130), we now have phone service there, with our old church number in service: 520-887-2060.   We also have DSL wireless internet.  Phone and internet service will be transferred to our reconstructed building when we are able to move back into it (November, Lord willing).

Cliff Frank's sermon Aug.22

Some of you may have missed Cliff Frank's great message called "Got Wisdom?" -- based on Proverbs 8.  (Click here to listen to it!

If you'd like to hear any other sermons from the past few years, you can find them here on our church website.

On Sunday Aug.29 Joshua Webb will be our guest speaker - and his sermon, too, will be recorded and posted on our site.

Beginning Sept.5, Pastor Adam Kemper's sermons will become available on the site - so stay tuned!

Collecting items for schools...

We are still collecting school supplies for Mexican schools, as part of our "Crayons for Christ" program.

We'll also donate school supplies to La Cima Middle School (next-door neighbors to our 5950 La Canada Dr. building), so feel free to bring extra supplies (we'll provide an additional box for those donations).

Frances Cline also reminded us about "Boxtops for Education."  As we have done in the past, you may bring these special boxtops or coupons, which this year will benefit the school attended by the children of Fredrick and Bareatha Scott.  You may leave the boxtops and coupons in the collection container in the refreshment area.
