Upcoming Events

Summer 2010 SMART Board Academy
Summer is the perfect time to gain new skills and to brush up on your technology know-how. At the Teq Summer Academy, you’ll have the opportunity to do both, while creating meaningful, interactive lessons for the upcoming school year. In addition, our Instructional Technologists will help you link your lessons to state curriculum standards and develop scoring guides to measure student achievement.

The cost of each session is $25.99, and courses begin Monday, July 26, and run through Friday, August 20. Dates are available at our Long Island, New York City, and Central New York locations.

TeqSmart Certification Class
"SMART Boards in Today's Classroom"
We will be conducting the TeqSmart Certification class “SMART Boards in Today’s Classroom” beginning on Monday, July 12, through Thursday, July 15 from 9am – 4pm! The class will be held at the SMART Showroom in New York City, and at the Tequipment Showrooms on Long Island and in Central NY. The cost of the class is $350 per person, and seats are limited.

SMART Board Professional Development
Two Session on June 18
Session 1: 8:30 - 11:30am - SMART Boards for MS/HS Science In this science-specific course, learn how to effectively integrate your interactive whiteboard into your classroom instruction while exploring new, innovative, and engaging lesson ideas. Within your subject, quickly acquire new SMART Board skills and methods that will interactively engage your students—focusing attention on the lesson, not the technology. ($50 per person, breakfast is included and will be served at 8:00am.) Register online now!

Session 2: 12:30 - 3:30pm - SMART Boards and Web 2.0 Web 2.0 is all the rage! Take an enlightening journey through useful (and fun) online tools that will undoubtedly help you grow professionally as a teacher. Experience Web 2.0 applications—exploring this exciting new interactive environment—through your SMART Board. Learn how to incorporate these new technologies into the classroom to support teaching and learning. ($50 per person, lunch is included and will be served at 12:00pm.)

Plant & Animal Cells
An interactive SMART Board lesson in which students will be able to identify organelles and understand the functions of all the major organelles of the plant and animal cell. Download now!

Plant Life Cycle
Students will identify parts of a plant, know what vegetables are produced from the different parts of the plant, learn the life cycle of a plant and practice sorting. Download now!

"Doctors of Integerology" (Integer Operations)
Students inherently mix the rules for integer operations. By focusing the students to identify the operation AND the “vital” signs of the numbers they draw a similarity to a medical doctor. They too need to know the operation AND the patients vital signs. This notebook will allow students to review integer operations and develop a “medic kit” graphic organizer to perform signed numbered operations like a pro!
