Call Brady Offering Remote Support Option"If only I could find someone to help my Mom with her computer in Ohio..." "I'm sure if you could see my screen you'd know how to fix it in no time." I've heard your requests. Call Brady, Computer Services, is now offering Remote Support. Have a problem? Call Brady at 864-335-8672. As long as you have Internet access, Brady will send you a link, have you click a few "Yes/Accept/OK" buttons, and then he can remotely manage your computer. E-mail configured in no time... Viruses are a thing of the past. In most cases, remote sessions will cost less too, with calls starting at $35. Know someone who could use this service? Use the "Forward to a Friend" option at the bottom of the newsletter to spread the word. Thanks! Google to Greenville? When Google announced plans to bring its high speed fiber test to an American city, Greenville, SC jumped into action. In less than 2 weeks, area organizers planned the scene shown in the picture above (Copyright and credit to Mike Bergen). The "We Are Feeling Lucky" project included 2000 people in Falls Park spinning LED glow sticks, spelling out Google. The event has received national and international media attention, and could help bring Google to town. For more details and pictures, visit www.WeAreFeelingLucky.com.
Build Fences on Your Desktop
There are thousands of applications and tools available for your Windows PC. I have a new favorite: Fences. It helps you to organize the clutter on your desktop. Once installed, you draw boxes on your desktop, give the boxes a label, and then drag the appropriate icons into the boxes. Drag the boxes around the screen as a group, resize them, or hide them altogether. My desktop (with a lakeside picture near Table Rock) is pictured to the right.
For this free download, you can visit: http://www.stardock.com/products/Fences/ Help Small Businesses be SuccessfulWhen I work with a small business that does business the right way, I want to help them be successful. Most business owners may ask you to "Tell a Friend," but I would encourage you to also write a review. There are many places that you can post a review, from Angie's List to Google Local to LinkedIn. If you have questions about where to post a great review, ask the business. Would you like to write a review for Call Brady? I'd love for you to post it on Google Local. What's New?Be sure to check out my newest websites: - Trinity Presbyterian Church in Travelers Rest (www.Trinity-PCUSA.org) - This site was designed in a way that lets members of their staff AND congregation upload new content. Once reviewed by a staff member, it is live. This is a great way to keep your members involved, and to encourage repeat traffic to a website.
- Travelers Rest Area Business Association (www.MyTRABA.org) - I've redesigned this site to make it more of a destination site as well. Member businesses can add updates, which keeps people coming back.
- Five Forks Town Car Service (www.FiveForksTCS.com) - This was a 1Site1Day project for a new car service in Simpsonville (serving all of the Upstate).
Also, I will be teaching another class at Furman in May, "Introduction to Social Media." This class covers the basics of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and many other Social Media sites. It is offered through the Furman Learning program, and is geared towards adults. Download the full Furman Learning Spring Calendar.
