Dear Good News Magazine Subscriber,
You probably noticed that Apple recently unveiled its new iPad, creating an instant buzz in the tech world. While it won’t be available for purchase until late March, it’s cutting-edge technology and probably will be for a while. But one thing’s for certain—this new iPad, for all its bells and whistles, will one day be obsolete.
Remember cassette tape recorders? They were once cutting-edge too. I still remember how cool it was to get one with “LED display”! Some of you will remember when Model Ts, turntables and hi-fis were once the top-of-the-line breakthroughs in their day.
But technology progresses and continually changes. We invent faster, sleeker, more efficient tools and toys. What was once new and vibrant becomes a useless relic. And one day, the iPad will take its place among the obsolete—the typewriters and the washboards of ages past—and we’ll see the latest and greatest take its place. The constant stream of new technology and innovations is impressive, and what it allows us to do is absolutely amazing.
But wouldn’t it be great if we had something that didn’t need to be upgraded or thrown out every couple of years? Something we could depend on to stay relevant and up-to-date without having to sink wads of cash into it? Something that just…works?
Actually, we do have something like that! It is the top-of-the-line, cutting-edge tool geared to the technology of learning how to live! And it has never gone out of date. It’s the Bible. It has been around for almost two millennia—2,000 years! How long have you had the computer you’re using now?
The truly unique thing about the Bible is that, despite the steady assaults from naysayers, its message is still relevant today. It contains page after page, book after book of essential instruction on how to live this life to the fullest. And beyond that, you’ll find the plan and purpose for mankind, alongside prophecies yet to be fulfilled. Let me repeat that: This book tells the future. You won’t find an app for that for the iPad!
The iPad will undoubtedly be a great tool, capable of some impressive tricks. But if you want something that’s lasting, relevant and filled with timeless value, you won’t find it in Apple’s newest fad or any other cutting-edge technology. But you will find it in the pages of God’s tool for life and living—your Bible.
To help you explore this unique book full of inspiration, wisdom and practical answers, we’ve just launched a brand-new set of online study tools. The Bible doesn’t claim to be an easy book. It can be intimidating and overwhelming on first glance. Our new Bible Study Guides are designed to help. Check out the first 13 lessons today at http://www.freebiblestudyguides.org. Many more lessons are planned. Your input and suggestions for future lessons are welcome.

Warm regards,
