Make Yourself Count in Minnesota and Complete the 2010 Census
The 2010 Census questionnaire will be coming to your mailbox in mid-March. It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and asks four general questions about the household (i.e., whether you rent or own) and six questions about each person living in the household (i.e., name, age, date of birth, race, etc.). Please complete and return the Census questionnaire by April 1, 2010. Participation is required by law, and Census Bureau employees will make every effort to get a response from each household. The 2010 Census is important to Minnesota because it will determine whether the state maintains or loses one of its current Congressional seats. Additionally, Census information determines the allocation of federal funding for a variety of services ranging from education to transportation. Finally, the information also is used by businesses for planning, marketing, labor force projections and more. Learn more about the 2010 Census at www.mn2010census.org. The website includes a frequently asked questions section, information for those who reside in another state for part of the year (such as snowbirds) and how they can be counted as Minnesotans, and much more.
