Debuting a sneak peak of our first design!
Thank you to everyone who has signed up for our newsletter. There has been an astounding level of interest in our project, surpassing 1,000 subscribers last week!
When you subscribed, Skora committed that you would be the first to hear of our progress. Going forward we will release a newsletter every other month. We also invite you to follow us on Twitter (www.twitter.com/skoraRunning/) and our newly launched blog (www.skorashop.com/blog/).
Skora has grown to a team of passionate runners, designers and barefoot advocates. At Skora, we believe running shoes should provide minimal protection, thereby ensuring natural midfoot/forefoot running. Stripping away technology (most of which is only marketing hype) we help to keep runners injury-free, setting out to design and build the highest quality running shoes we can -- no excuses. That's our promise.
In writing this newsletter we needed to make a decision that we considered for several days. Do we provide the running community with a picture of our concept? Do we keep it under wraps until we’re closer to product launch? There are a lot of pluses and minuses to both sides. Ultimately, it came down to you, the runners. We are very proud of the result and really want to show off one of our two initial Skora designs.
Skora | Minimal Running Shoe Concept

Skora's design features at a glance:
- Rounded heel to mirror the shape of the foot and aid in natural gait/landing
- Ultra thin midsole/outsole of same 'thinness' from heel-to-toe to prevent heel-strike
- Extra wide toe box to allow your feet to function as nature intended
- Adjustable lacing and straps for a custom fit
As an independent company new to the footwear industry, we have the advantage of not being constrained by status quo shoe design. That means we can offer you alternative, bio-mechanically sound footwear, to make you fall in love with running, again.
We've been working hard to bring Skora from idea to reality. Despite some delays, we are still planning for a mid/late 2010 release. As CEO of Skora and a barefoot runner for nearly 8 years, I will always advocate that barefoot is best. However, let's face it, barefooting isn't always practical.
Let us know what you think by joining the discussion on twitter.com/skoraRunning/and we hope to continue this run together.
Happy trails,
David Sypniewski – Founder/CEO
