Taiwan has become a very popular destination for ESL teachers. For those considering the move there are obviously many things to consider, but one thing that can be easily overlooked is whether you will actually enjoy living here! After two years teaching English in Taiwan and observing teachers who have enjoyed it and those who haven't, my advice is to make sure you really enjoy being around kids. This week GoOverseas.com is proud to officially announce our 2010/2011 GO! Study Abroad Scholarship. This year's award ($1000) will assist students in offsetting the additional costs of study abroad. Like you, I love to travel and visit new places. I cherish every opportunity to meet new people and experience extraordinary places at the ground level. I have found one of the most rewarding ways to travel is to volunteer my time and and knowledge to local communities. I have taught in schools, helped build stronger communities, and even involved myself in wildlife conservation.
